About This Call
2014 Beaverton Arts Mix! is an exhibition open to artists residing in Oregon. Artists may submit up to four original works completed within the last two years. All artwork must be for sale with a maximum sale price of $5,000. Work by students is acceptable, but work done in class is ineligible. Previously accepted pieces from prior Showcases may not be entered again.
Submissions must be made online by Monday, August 4, 2014 by 11:00 PM Pacific Time. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will occur by Friday, September 5, 2014. Accepted artwork and completed paperwork must be delivered to Beaverton City Library on Tuesday, September 30, from 1:00-5:00 PM. Artwork will be picked up at the Beaverton City Library on Sunday, October 12, from 5:00-7:00 PM. 2D works must be quality framed with wire across the back before delivery. There is no entry fee to apply. Selected artists will be required to pay a $30 design and marketing fee at the time of artwork delivery. A 30% commission will be retained by the Beaverton Arts Commission from all sales.
Jurors will evaluate work in eight categories: Best in Show, Watercolor, Fine Craft & Sculpture, Oils & Acrylics, Drawings/Pastels & Prints, Photography, Jewelry/Fiber/Mixed Media, and Digital/Graphic Design. Selected artists have opportunities to bring additional works for sale (prints up to $200 on art racks, or 3D works up to $200 on pre-approved table-top displays). Demo opportunities are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Each accepted artist is required to volunteer one or more 2-3 hour shifts during the 10-day exhibition run, or pay a $50 buy-out fee.
