About This Call

Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) is conducting an open entry competition to select six sculptures valued at no more than $25,000 each for Northglenn's "Art on Parade" on-loan sculpture program. The selected pieces will be installed for one year at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park surrounding Webster Lake in Northglenn, Colorado, with placement beginning in late May 2014 and remaining on display until May 2015. Each of the six finalists will receive a $600 honorarium, and $1,000 will be awarded to the artist who receives the annual "People's Choice Award." All pieces must be for sale. Since the program's inception in 2001, the NAHF has purchased each of the People's Choice winning sculptures.

Submitted sculptures must be garden-sized or larger (at least three feet in one dimension recommended) and valued at no more than $25,000. Pieces must be ready for outdoor installation and capable of being welded to a 1/4" steel plate or mounted using a system with no less than 3/8" bolts (minimum three-point bolting system required). Any durable outdoor medium is acceptable, but no hanging sculptures, wooden sculptures, or water features are permitted. Edition sizes over 50 will not be accepted. Applicants must submit three images of one sculpture: two clearly showing front and back, and one showing detail with scale indicated. Multiple sculpture submissions are allowed; if submitting more than one, the highest scoring sculpture will be considered. The six sculptures chosen must represent six different artists.

A committee of local citizens, businesses, and NAHF members will select the sculptures. Insurance will be provided by the City of Northglenn. The NAHF will work with local and regional media to promote the art and will develop a full-color brochure describing the sculptures. All submissions must be made via the CaFE website. For additional information, contact Director Michael Stricker at (303) 450-8727 or [email protected].
