About This Call
VALA Eastside and Redmond Town Center invite artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories to submit an application for participation in Redmond Town Center's 4th Annual Arts Festival. This three-day outdoor festival will take place July 12-14 and will feature approximately 100 artist booths, demonstrations, workshops, musical entertainment, food vendors and a retailer sidewalk sale. The festival runs Friday, July 12 10am-8pm, Saturday, July 13 10am-8pm, and Sunday, July 14 11am-7pm.
Application fee is $15. Booth fee of $175 is collected after acceptance into the festival. Each booth includes rental and set-up of one white 10'x10' pop-up tent with walls and weights, two six-foot banquet tables and two folding chairs. Additional tables are available for rent at $10 each. A limited amount of power is available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional $40 charge, providing one live plug with a maximum draw of 15 amps. Artists must provide their own extension cords and surge protector. Booth locations will be in the heart of Redmond Town Center on NE 74th Street between 164th Avenue and 166th Avenue. Load-in is Friday, July 12 between 7am and 9am. Takedown begins at 7pm Sunday, July 14 with vehicle access beginning at 7:15pm.
Artists applying must submit 5-10 images of their work. All work must be either original to the artist or a reproduction of the artist's original work, with reproductions making up no more than 40% of work for sale (except for printmakers and photographers). Selected artists will also be considered for the Featured Artist Installation, a juried exhibition at VALA Art Center running July 11 through August 1. There is no additional fee for the Featured Artist Installation. Artwork intake for selected pieces is July 7th at 10am, with an opening reception and awards presentation on Thursday, July 11th from 5-7pm. Acceptance notifications will be mailed May 1, with booth fees due May 15 and booth assignments emailed June 22. Past attendance has been approximately 10,000 visitors. Participants must staff their booth with artwork for sale all three days of the event.
