2013 CVG Show - Annual Washington State Juried Art Competition

Collective Visions Gallery announces the Sixth Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and photographic/digital arts. All Washington state artists are invited to submit work. The juror for 2013 is Alfredo Arreguin, a world renowned painter from Seattle.

Eligibility: All artists must be 18 years of age or older and have their primary residence in Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and executed within the last three years (since 1/1/10) and without the supervision of an instructor. Copies or works based on copyrighted artwork are not eligible. A maximum of three entries per artist is permitted. Entry fee is $35.

Work Requirements: Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 8 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with appropriate framing and hanging wires. Submit 1-6 images.

Awards: Best of Show $1,500; First Prize in Photo/Digital Arts $1,000; First Prize in 2D Arts $1,000; First Prize in 3D Arts $1,000; Second Prize in each category $400; Third Prize in each category $250; CVG People's Choice Award $300; CAFNW Best of Kitsap Award $1,000; Purchase prize fund $1,000-$2,000. All work must be for sale. Collective Visions Gallery retains a 33% commission on all sales.

Timeline: Entry deadline November 12, 2012 (11 PM Pacific Time). Artist notifications December 27, 2012. Hand deliveries Sunday, January 13, 10 to 5 pm; shipped work must arrive by 5 pm January 12, 2013. Exhibition opens January 19, 1 to 5 pm with Awards Ceremony 5-8 pm. Exhibition closes February 23, 5 pm. Artist pick-up February 24, 10 to 5 pm; shipped work will be sent by March 1, 2013.
