2013 Art aRound Town in Carbondale, Colorado

Twelve sculptures are sought for the 10th annual Art aRound Town exhibition. Selected works will be on display for a one-year period and will be installed the week of June 3, 2013. The Town provides an experienced installation crew. Sculptures must be safe for pedestrians and easy to maintain in an outdoor mountain environment. All pieces will be freestanding outdoor works attached to substantial concrete pedestals (provided) and should be appropriate in scale for street display. There are no predispositions toward particular styles or materials.

Selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium to defray travel costs, be offered home hospitality in the community, conduct an art walk, be guests of honor at a cocktail event at the Surls/Locke home and studio, be invited to an artist-only happy hour, and will have the opportunity to sell their work during the display period. Selected artists will also have the opportunity to show smaller works in a May sculpture show at Carbondale Council for Arts and Humanities (CCAH). There will be a $1,000 award for "Best in Show."

Artists must submit four to five images total: two views of one image marked "Proposal Image" (an image of the piece being submitted for display), along with three additional images showing other examples of the artist's work. The entry deadline is February 28, 2013. Notification of selections will be made approximately by March 15, 2013.
