2013 Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting - Finalists

This is an invitation-only call for nine finalists selected from 653 applicants for the 2013 Alexander Rutsch Award and Solo Exhibition. Finalists must submit additional materials for jury consideration.

Submission requirements include twenty (20) images of additional work, an artist resume, and an artist statement. The composition of images (head-on shots, details, installation views, etc.) is at the artist's discretion. The jury will evaluate submissions with consideration for breadth, content, and creativity to anchor a solo exhibition. All work submitted must be available for the exhibition, including time for delivery and installation/de-installation. The exhibition period runs approximately April 24 through July 6, 2013.

Deadline for additional materials is Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11:59pm MST. The winner will be notified Friday, March 8, 2013. Artwork delivery dates are April 24-27, 2013. The opening reception is Friday, May 3, 6:30-8:00pm EST, with exhibition dates May 3-June 29, 2013. Return delivery dates for artwork are July 2-6, 2013. Work may be delivered by hand or shipped; no COD inbound shipments accepted. Pelham Art Center will pay up to $750 for outbound shipping only, and return packaging is required. All work is insured while in the possession of the Art Center and during outbound shipping. Pelham Art Center retains a 33% commission on work sold during the exhibition.
