2013-2016 Prequalified Public Artist Pool

The Cedar Falls Public Art Committee invites professional artists and artist teams residing in the United States to submit qualifications for potential inclusion in a prequalified artist pool for upcoming public art opportunities. Artists selected for inclusion in this pool will be considered for project opportunities as they arise through 2016.

The 2013-2016 Prequalified Public Artist Pool will be used to select artists for a range of new public art projects associated with the construction of new transportation and streetscape improvement projects throughout Cedar Falls. Project budgets range from $30,000 to $250,000. The CFPAC seeks to include artists working in a variety of media and artistic approaches. Certain projects may also offer opportunities for an artist or artist team to work as part of a design team along with the project architect/designer. Artists selected for the pool will be eligible for all project opportunities as they arise in the next three years, including corridor improvements along a major Cedar Falls transportation thoroughfare, gateway projects, and those at other locations in the city.

Applications must include an artist statement, resume and short biography in PDF format, 10-20 images of previous work, and annotated image descriptions with titles, file names, dimensions, date, location, and materials. Artist teams must submit one application and are limited to a total of 20 images. The application deadline is March 25, 2013 at 11:59 pm (MST). Notification of inclusion in the pool will be provided in late April or early May 2013. The prequalified pool terminates on December 31, 2016.
