2012 VALA Art Shop

VALA Eastside invites artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories to apply to be part of the 2012 VALA Art Shop, a partnership with Redmond Town Center. This event is part exhibition, part retail shop, and part learning experience, offering artists the opportunity to "set up shop" with other artists inside a transformed store space.

Up to 20 artists will be selected by a jury of community members and retail and arts professionals to be Featured Shop Artists during five consecutive weekends from Friday, November 23 through Sunday, December 23. Each artist can choose to participate in all five weekends or at least two weekends of their choosing. Each weekend requires a separate fee ranging from $150 to $300 depending on the specific weekend. Selected artists will also be invited to a panel discussion on "The Business Side of Art" featuring prominent professional artists, arts organization leaders and retail professionals.

Submission Requirements: Original 2D and 3D artwork only. All artwork must be for sale. Artists must submit 5-10 images of their work and an artist statement via CAFÉ. Entry fee is $25, paid with the application. A 10'x10' booth space with draped curtain sides and 2 tables will be provided. Electricity can be provided on a case-by-case basis if need is demonstrated. Artists must be available for shop consultation and setup (dates TBD), be present during all shop hours, and make best effort to attend the panel discussion in November. Shop hours are 11am-6pm each weekend. VALA charges no commission on work sold.
