2012 MACAA Members Juried Exhibition

The Elaine L. Jacob Gallery at Wayne State University in Detroit presents a call for entries for the Mid-America College Art Association (MACAA) Members Juried Exhibition. The exhibition runs August 3 - October 6, 2012, and coincides with the 2012 MACAA Conference (October 3-6, 2012). A reception will be held October 5 from 5-8PM, with a keynote speaker at the Schaver Music Recital Hall from 6-7:30PM.

Eligibility is open to all MACAA Members who are 18 years of age or older. A maximum of three entries per artist is permitted. Two views of each work are allowed (second views and detail shots must be clearly labeled as VIEW#2). Images: maximum 6; Video: maximum 3; Total samples: minimum 1, maximum 6. All two-dimensional artwork must be framed (excluding wrapped canvas) and ready to hang. Watercolors, pastels, and photographs must be under glass or Plexiglas. Artwork must be original; copies of published photos are not acceptable. Sculptural and ceramic work must fit through a 6' by 8' door and weigh less than 100 pounds. Video works are eligible and will be presented on flat screen monitors; video projections will not be accepted. Artists may not substitute, alter, or withdraw work after acceptance.

Entry fee is $15. Submissions are made online through the CaFÉ system. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email on June 8, 2012. Three $250 awards will be given: Juror's Best of Show Award (Michelle Perron), Critic's Choice Award (Lilly Wei), and Director's Choice Award (Tom Pyrzewski). Accepted works can be hand delivered or shipped; artists are responsible for all shipping charges in both directions. The gallery will not be responsible for damage or loss.
