2012 CVG Show - Washington State Juried Art Competition

Collective Visions Gallery announces the Fifth Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and photographic/digital arts. All Washington state artists are invited to submit work; prizes will be awarded for winners in several categories.

Eligibility: All artists must be 18 years of age or older and have their primary residence in Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and executed within the last three years (since 1/1/09) and without the supervision of an instructor. Copies or works based on copyrighted paintings or photographs are not eligible. No video, film, or performance works are eligible. A maximum of three entries per artist is permitted. Entry fee is $35.

Work Requirements: Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 8 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with appropriate framing and hanging wires. Submit 1-6 images per entry.

Awards: Best of Show $1,500; First Prize in each category (2D, 3D, Photo/Digital) $750 each; Second Prize in each category $400 each; Third Prize in each category $250 each; People's Choice Award $300; Purchase prize fund $1,000-$2,000 (pending approval).

Timeline: Entry deadline November 17, 2011. Artist notifications January 3, 2012. Hand deliveries January 21, 2012 (10am-5pm); shipped work must arrive by 5pm January 21. Exhibition opens January 28, 2012 with Awards Ceremony 5-8pm. People's Choice voting ends February 24, 2012 at 5pm with award presentation and guest art critic's lecture at 7pm. Exhibition closes February 25, 2012 at 5pm. Artist pickup February 26, 2012 (10am-5pm); shipped work sent by March 2, 2012.

Juror: Kathleen Moles, Curator of Exhibitions at the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner, WA. All work must be for sale; Collective Visions Gallery retains 33% commission on sales.
