About This Call

PUNCH Gallery presents an international juried exhibition taking place December 1-31, 2011. Located in the Pioneer Square area of downtown Seattle, PUNCH provides an opportunity to gain exposure within the Northwest regional art scene.

Artists from any country may submit work in any medium, including traditional media, crafts, experimental genres, video, sound, or installation. Complicated installation procedures may require the artist to assist with installation. Members of PUNCH are not eligible to enter. Work must be able to fit through the gallery's front door (81" x 40"). Entry fees are $10 for the application plus $5 per image or media file. Artists may submit up to 12 total samples (0-12 images, 0-6 audio files, 0-6 video files). Acceptable file formats are JPEG for 2-D and 3-D works, .mov or .mp4 for video, and .mp3 for sound files.

The juror is Stefano Catalani, Director of Curatorial Affairs/Artistic Director at Bellevue Arts Museum. Cash awards will be determined by the number of entries and distributed at the juror's discretion; the previous juried exhibition presented cash awards totaling $1,300. Several entrants were also offered additional exhibition opportunities curated by PUNCH members. PUNCH will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sales, though it is not required that accepted works be for sale. Accepted work must be received by November 23. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email by November 7, with the opening reception and award announcement on December 1. Following the closing on December 31, work will be repacked and shipped back to artists or may be picked up at the gallery. Artists are responsible for carrying insurance for their work; PUNCH will not be responsible for damage, theft, or loss. Work will be insured for return only if the owner requests and pays for this insurance.
