2011 Public Art Network Year in Review

Americans for the Arts Public Art Network announces the 2011 Year in Review, an open call for submissions recognizing outstanding public art projects. Since 2000, this annual program has been the only national award specifically recognizing public art projects. Both temporary and permanent public art are eligible. Submitted projects must have been completed in calendar year 2010.

Projects will be reviewed and selected by jury panel members Gail Goldman, Kendal Henry, and Richard Turner. Selected projects will be presented at the Americans for the Arts Public Art Preconference 'Innovations in Infrastructure' in San Diego, June 15-16, 2011.

Applications must be submitted via CaFÉ at http://www.callforentry.org/ and must include: six digital images of the completed public art project (one image per JPEG file), a project description of no more than 300 words addressing one or more of the criteria review guidelines, and artist and project information including artist name(s), commissioning entity, contact information, project title, location, materials, and budget. Applicants may submit up to 20 projects. For kinetic, new media, or video-based art, three labeled DVDs may be mailed to: Americans for the Arts, Public Art Program Manager, 1000 Vermont Ave NW 6th Fl., Washington, DC 20005 by the deadline. Application deadline: April 22, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Submission opens March 22, 2011.
