2011 CVG Show - Washington State Juried Art Competition

Collective Visions Gallery announces the Fourth Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and photographic/digital arts. All Washington state artists are invited to submit work. A maximum of three entries per artist is permitted, with an entry fee of $35.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years of age or older with primary legal residence in Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, executed within the last three years (since January 1, 2007), and without the supervision of an instructor. Copies or works based on copyrighted paintings or photographs are not eligible. No video, film, or performance works are eligible. Two views of each work are allowed (second views and detail shots must be clearly labeled as view #2). Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 8 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with appropriate framing and hanging wires.

Awards include Best of Show ($1,500), First Prize in each category ($900), Second Prize in each category ($350), Third Prize in each category ($150), People's Choice Award ($300), and a Purchase Prize Fund ($1,000, pending final approval). Exhibition opens February 1, 2011 and closes February 26, 2011. Art Walk is February 4, 5-9 pm. Awards Ceremony is February 5, 5-8 pm at the Norm Dicks Government Center. Juror is Dennis Peacock, a professional metal sculptor. All work must be for sale; Collective Visions Gallery retains a 33% commission on sales. Artist notifications will be sent via email no later than January 4, 2011.
