About This Call
Collective Visions Gallery announces the Third Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and photographic arts. All Washington state artists are invited to submit work. The entry fee is $35 with a limit of 3 art works per artist; up to 2 views per piece are allowed.
Eligibility: All artists must be 18 years of age or older and have their primary legal residence in Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and executed within the last three years (since 1/1/07) and without the supervision of an instructor. Copies or works based on copyrighted paintings or photographs are not eligible. No video, film, or performance works are eligible. Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 8 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with appropriate framing and hanging wires. All work must be for sale; Collective Visions Gallery will retain a 33% commission on all sales.
Juror: Jake Seniuk, director of the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. Awards include Best of Show ($1500), First Prize in each category ($1000), Second Prize in each category ($300), Third Prize in each category ($100), and the CVG People's Choice Award ($300). Exhibition opens February 2, 2010 and closes February 27, 2010. Awards Ceremony is February 6, 6-9 pm. Artist notifications will be sent via email by January 4, 2010. Hand deliveries accepted January 22-23, 10 to 5. Shipped work must arrive between January 11 and 5pm January 23, 2010. Work pickup: February 27, 4-7 pm and February 28, 1-5 pm. Shipped work will be returned by March 5.
