About This Call
The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) is conducting an open entry competition to select six sculptures valued at no more than $20,000 each for Northglenn's "Art on Parade" on-loan sculpture program. Selected pieces will be installed for one year at E.B. Rains Jr Memorial Park surrounding Webster Lake in Northglenn, Colorado, with placement beginning in late May.
Each of the six finalists will receive a $500 honorarium. An additional $1,000 will be awarded to the recipient of the annual "People's Choice Award." Since the program's inception in 2001, the NAHF has purchased each of the People's Choice winning sculptures. All pieces must be for sale. Sculptures must be garden-sized or larger (at least three feet in one dimension recommended) and ready for outdoor installation. Pieces must be capable of being welded to a 1/4" steel plate or mounted using a minimum three-point bolting system with no less than 3/8" bolts. Any durable outdoor medium is acceptable except wood and hanging sculpture. Edition sizes over 50 will not be accepted.
Submit three images of one sculpture: two showing the front and backside, and one showing detail with scale indicated. All submissions must be made via the CaFE website. A committee of local citizens, businesses, and NAHF members will select sculptures based on artistic merit and appropriateness for outdoor display. Insurance will be provided by the City of Northglenn. The NAHF will promote the art through local and regional media and a full-color brochure. For additional information, contact Michael Stricker at (303) 450-8727 or [email protected].
