2006 Year in Review

Americans for the Arts Public Art Network announces the Call for Entry for the 2006 Year In Review. Projects selected for inclusion will be presented as part of the annual national public art gathering "Material Meaning: Process, Product and Preservation" held in Milwaukee June 1-2, 2006, included in a CD-ROM and available on the Americans for the Arts website. Each year, Year In Review highlights innovative and exciting examples of public art as selected by two reviewers. The annual Year In Review serves as an exceptional planning tool for communities developing public art programs and projects, and a visual resource for educators, libraries, universities, art commissions, consultants, and designers.

Submitted public art projects will be reviewed and selected by public artist Mary Miss and Robert Rindler, President of the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Submitted public art projects must have been completed between April 2005 and April 2006. Each application must include exactly six digital images of the completed public art project (detail, overview and context shots), a project description providing additional project information not evident in the visual images, and additional project information including project title, location and budget. Organizations and artists must submit one separate application for each project they would like considered. Public Art Network encourages commissioning agencies and/or artists to submit no more than 5 projects.

Application Deadline: Midnight (MST/MDT), April 28, 2006. All materials must be submitted in digital format through CaFÉ at http://www.callforentry.org/. No slides or hard copy materials will be accepted.
