1st Annual Fiber Exhibition at Kansas City Stockyards Gallery

Kansas City Stockyards Gallery, located at 1600 Genessee, Kansas City, MO, invites artists to submit contemporary fiber art for exhibition from October 16 - November 13, 2020. The gallery seeks work that reflects a wide range of functional or non-functional pieces using fiber and/or fiber art techniques. Eligible media include embroidery, weaving, felt, sculpture, dyeing, sewing, quilts, knitting, crochet, and mixed media where fiber or textile is incorporated. Pieces must be of original design; kits and commercial patterns are prohibited. Submissions are open to local, regional, national, and international artists.

Entry fee is $15 for 5 submissions, with a $5 media fee. Applicants must submit 5-10 images of their work. The gallery takes a 40% commission on all artwork sold. A $100 Best In Show award will be presented at the opening reception on October 16, 5-9:00pm, which is free and open to the public. Artists are encouraged to attend.

Artist drop-off dates are Friday, October 9 (1:00pm-5:00pm) and Saturday, October 10 (11:00am-3:00pm). Shipped work must arrive by October 10, 2020. Artists shipping work must include a return shipping label and purchase shipping insurance. Artwork pickup dates are Friday, November 20 (1:00pm-5:00pm) and Saturday, November 21 (11:00am-3:00pm). All artwork must be available for sale and remain in the show until pickup or sale. Artists are responsible for insuring their work; the gallery is not liable for theft or damage.
