About This Call

Outnumbered Gallery is hosting the first annual Chasing & Repoussé International Exhibition, a juried exhibition showcasing exceptional metal work from around the world. The exhibition will open with a private party on June 5, 2015 and open to the public June 6, 2015, running through July 18, 2015. Fabrizio Acquafresca and Nancy Meli Walker will give demonstrations of the ancient technique on both opening days.

Artists may submit work created between 2000-2015 using chasing and repoussé techniques in any form: jewelry, platters, vessels, or wall pieces. All metals are accepted. Each artist may submit up to 2 pieces. Submissions must include 2-3 clear images from different angles with one detailed image, a clear description of materials used (metals, gems), dimensions, date, and piece name, and an artist statement. All work must be for sale; the gallery receives 40% commission. Entry fee is $35.00. Work will be judged on original design, technical skill, and presentation by jurors Il Maestro Acquafresca, Nancy Meli Walker, and Sudee Floyd.

Entry deadline is April 1, 2015. Jurying takes place April 2-25, 2015, with notification of accepted artists on April 30, 2015. Accepted work must be delivered to the gallery in Littleton, Colorado between May 4-26, 2015 (artists must provide tracking numbers). Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping. A grant is available to pay for return shipping only, up to $100.00 per international artist if work is not sold during the exhibition. Accepted artists must provide a copyright-free, high-resolution image to the gallery for use in publications upon acceptance.
