1st Annual At The Walker Open Exhibition

The Walker Art Committee invites visual artists residing in the United States to enter the 1st Annual At The Walker Open Exhibition. Juror Steven Greenwall will select up to 50 finalists to exhibit their work in the gallery space adjoining the Walker Art Collection, which features work by celebrated twentieth century artists.

Representational and conceptual work in the following categories will be accepted: 2D (all two dimensional media excluding photography), 3D (all three dimensional media), and Photography. Artists may submit up to 4 artworks for consideration. Over $3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including a "Best of Show" prize of $1,000, $300 for 1st Place in each category, $200 for 2nd Place in each category, and $150 for 3rd Place in each category, plus Honorable Mentions.

Eligibility: Artists 18 years and older whose primary residence is in the United States. Entries must be original work created after January 1, 2012, and not a result of a class assignment. Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable) for up to four artworks. Work must be no larger than 30 inches in any dimension; 3D work should not exceed 50 inches total (height + width + depth) and should not weigh more than 30 lbs. Digital images must be JPEG files, 1920 pixels on the shortest side, no larger than 3 MB in RGB or sRGB color space. Video and audio entries will not be accepted. Notification of selected artists will occur on or before February 27, 2015. Exhibition dates are April 1 - May 29, 2015. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Accepted artwork must be shipped installation-ready with all 2D work framed with wire hangers and plexiglas framing only.
