1ª Open Art Miami: International Contemporary Art Competition 2017

Open Art Miami is an international competition supporting, diffusing, and promoting the visual arts. Experienced, emerging, and new artists can participate regardless of nationality, age, and residence. Artists are invited to submit work in painting, photography, drawing, or digital art. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of three professionals in the visual arts, each representing a different field.

The competition awards $14,000 in prizes: $2,000 for each first prize in each medium, $1,000 for each second prize, and $500 for each third prize. The 100 finalists will be featured for one year in the Open Art Miami virtual gallery. Winners will be published in OpenArtMiami Magazine (PDF sent to all participants; hard copies sent to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners) and distributed to art exposition centers and collector groups. The international exhibition will take place in December 2017 at Artium Art Gallery Miami-Santiago, coinciding with Art Basel Miami. All artworks must be available for sale, with prices determined by the artist and awarding committee; Open Art Miami applies 40% commission with 60% to artists. Original works must not exceed 47 inches wide. Additional benefits include 2 art residencies during Art Basel week and free web design and domain for 2 artists.

Entry fee is $25, with an additional $5 per image for the 2nd through 10th images. Artists may submit 1-10 images. The entry deadline was June 8, 2017.
