19th National Photography Competition

The 19th National Photography Competition is open to all US residents 18 years of age or older, excluding fotofoto gallery artists. Any photographic medium including digital and alternative processes will be accepted. The maximum height or width of framed work cannot exceed 24 inches, and free-standing pieces cannot be accepted. Works previously exhibited at fotofoto gallery are ineligible for submission. Entries with substantial artificial intelligence rendering will not be accepted.

Submissions must be made via the CaFE system only; mail-in entries will not be considered. Images must be JPEG or JPG format, 2,000 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB in file size, and in sRGB color profile. The entry fee is $45 for 5 images, with an additional $6 per image for images 6-15 (up to 15 total). All submissions are due February 9, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notifications will be sent February 17, 2024.

Approximately 30 photographs will be selected for a 24-day exhibition from March 7-30, 2024, displayed in the gallery and online. Framed pieces must be received by March 1, 2024 and should be framed in simple black or white frames with neutral museum quality mats and wired for hanging. A reception will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024. Juror Meredith Brown, Consulting Curator of Art at the Heckscher Museum in Huntington, NY, will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners receiving $300, $200, and $100 respectively. The 1st place award is sponsored by The Huntington Art Center.
