19th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival

The 19th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival is open to all artists 18 years and older with plein air experience. The entry deadline is April 1, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selected artists will be notified by email no later than April 8th and must accept the invitation by April 14, 2023. The entry fee is $30 (non-refundable), which will be applied against the $150 participation fee if selected.

Submit a minimum of five professional-quality images of plein air artwork in JPEG format with 300 DPI minimum resolution. Include the title in the file name and list the title, dimensions, medium, and price on the entry form. Images must not include matting or framing and should be cropped to show only the artwork. By entering, artists consent to promotional use of accepted work.

The festival runs October 20-28, 2023. Required events include Artist Orientation (October 20, 8:00 a.m.), Main Street Paint Out (October 21, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.), and Awards Night Celebration (October 27, 4:00-7:00 p.m.). Optional events include Creekside Paint Out at L'Auberge de Sedona (October 24, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) and Final Sale Day & Artist Games (October 28, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.). Up to $13,000 in awards will be presented throughout the week, with additional gift certificates and products from Guerilla Painter and Golden Artist Colors/Williamsburg Oils. The Sedona Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sales. All entries must be available for purchase at a price determined by the artist. Payment for sold artwork occurs in the month following the sale.
