18th National Photography Competition

The 18th National Photography Competition is open to all US residents 18 years of age or older, excluding fotofoto gallery artists. Any photographic medium including digital and alternative processes will be accepted. The maximum height or width of framed work cannot exceed 24 inches, and free-standing pieces cannot be accepted. Photographs exhibited previously at fotofoto gallery are not eligible for submission.

Approximately 30 photographs will be selected for a month-long exhibition from March 9 - April 1, 2023, displayed in the gallery and online on the website. Selected artists will receive shipping information upon completion of the jury process. Work should be framed in simple black or white frames with neutral museum quality mats, and all framed pieces must be wired. A reception will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 5-7pm.

Juror Alex Ferrone will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with awards of $300, $200, and $100 respectively. Entry fee is $40 for 5 images, with an additional $5 per image for images 6-15 (up to 15 total). All entries must be submitted via the CaFE system by Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notifications will be sent Monday, January 30, 2023. Framed photographs must be received by Friday, February 24, 2023. The competition is generously sponsored by The Huntington Art Center.
