18th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival

The 18th Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival is open to all artists 18 years and older with plein air experience. The entry fee is $30 (non-refundable), which will be applied against the $150 participation fee if selected. Selected artists will be notified by email no later than March 31, 2022, and must accept the invitation by April 8, 2022. Artists must submit a maximum of five professional-quality images of plein air artwork in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.

The festival runs October 21-29, 2022, with multiple events throughout the week. Artist Orientation is held Friday, October 21, 9:00-11:00 AM at the Sedona Arts Center campus, where canvases will be stamped and work hung in the Special Exhibition Gallery and Theatre Studio. Artists are required to bring two paintings of Sedona-themed work, and brunch is provided. Additional required events include the Main Street Paint Out on Saturday, October 22, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in Uptown Sedona, and the Awards Night Celebration on Friday, October 28, 4:00-7:00 PM. Optional events include the Creekside Paint Out at L'Auberge and the Final Sale Day & Artist Games on Saturday, October 29, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.

Up to $13,000 in awards will be presented throughout the week, with judges Susan Lynn and John Caggiano selecting final award winners including Best of Show. Guerilla Painter and Golden Artist Colors/Williamsburg Oils will provide gift certificates and products. The Sedona Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sales. All entries must be available for purchase with a sale price determined by the artist. Payment for sold artwork occurs in the month following the sale.
