17th National Photography Competition

The 17th National Photography Competition is open to all US residents 18 years of age or older, excluding fotofoto gallery artists. Any photographic medium including digital and alternative processes will be accepted. The maximum height or width of framed work cannot exceed 24 inches. Free-standing pieces cannot be accepted.

Entries require a minimum of 5 images and a maximum of 15 images. The entry fee is $40 for 5 images, with an additional $5 per image for images 6-15. All entries must be submitted via the CaFE system; mail-in entries will not be considered. Images must conform to CaFE formatting standards.

Approximately 30 photographs will be selected for a month-long exhibition from February 3 - March 5, 2022, displayed in the gallery and online on the website. Juror Eileen Rafferty will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with awards of $300, $200, and $100 respectively. Selected artists will receive shipping information upon completion of the jury process. Work should be framed in simple black or white frames with neutral museum quality mats, and all framed pieces must be wired. Notifications will be sent December 27, 2021. Framed photographs must be received by January 21, 2022. A reception is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2022.
