17th Annual Sanchez Art Center 50|50 Show

The 17th Annual Sanchez Art Center 50|50 Show invites artists to create 50 small works (6" x 6") over 50 days, from June 23 to August 11, 2025. Each artist selects a theme of 10 words or less for all 50 pieces. The exhibition runs September 5 – October 5, 2025. Entry deadline is Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 10:59 pm PDT. Entry fee is $25.

Accepted artists will receive 50 unprimed medium-density fiberboard (MDF) panels, 6" x 6" with pre-drilled nail holes, plus hanging supplies and installation templates. All fine art visual media are accepted, including paintings, drawings, watercolor, and 3D sculptures. Each piece must fit within 6" x 6" x 6". Alternative panels (small canvases, birch wood box panels, 3D materials) may be used with SAC approval at the artist's expense. A $75 participation fee is required at panel pickup on Saturday, June 14. Artists are responsible for installation on August 23, 24, or 25 between 11 am and 5 pm. All 49 works will be displayed in a uniform grid pattern (7 high x 7 across); the 50th piece may be framed (up to 10" wide) and displayed separately.

All artworks must be priced for sale, with all works by an individual artist at the same price ($45–$175 suggested range). SAC takes a 30% commission on sales. Artists will prepare an 8.5" x 11" bio and artist statement to display with their work. Jurors are Melissa Kreisa and Rose Sellery, co-directors of M.K. Contemporary Art in Santa Cruz. The exhibition is expected to feature approximately 2,500 works with an estimated audience of 1,200 or more viewers.
