16th Annual Sculpture Garden - Arts Council Wichita Falls

The Arts Council Wichita Falls' 16th Annual Sculpture Garden Exhibition at the Kemp Center for the Arts will accept between 8 and 10 pieces for a year-long exhibition. All forms of outdoor sculpture will be considered, provided they meet the prospectus requirements. The juror for this event is Houston artist Susan Budge.

Sculptures should be garden-sized or larger (at least 3 feet in one dimension recommended). The exhibit space surrounds a large public building with areas in open sunlight and shaded by large trees. Artwork will be placed throughout the site at the sole discretion of the contracted installer and Arts Council staff. Acceptable media includes metal, stone, ceramic, or any other durable material that will withstand the elements and outdoor display. Pieces must have the capacity to be attached to ¼" steel plate for installation on soft ground. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate work will not be considered.

Artists will be provided with an installation stipend totaling $1,000 ($500 upon installation and $500 upon pick-up), plus one hotel room for up to 2 nights during installation and the opening reception. Three cash awards will be given by the juror: 1st prize ($2,500), 2nd prize ($1,000), and 3rd prize ($500). Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of work at their own expense. If artwork is for sale, the Arts Council will receive a 30% commission on all sales. Sculptures will be on display for approximately one year from the May 2020 installation date. Artists will be notified of their pick-up date no less than 30 days prior to removal. Entry fee is $25.00. Submit 1-2 images of current work. International artists are eligible.
