13th Annual Lighthouse ArtCenter Plein Air Festival

The Lighthouse ArtCenter of Tequesta, Florida presents its 13th Annual Plein Air Festival, March 1-7, 2026. This juried competition is the largest plein air event of its kind in South Florida. The five-day paint out and competition takes place in Palm Beach and Martin Counties, featuring locations in Jupiter, Juno Beach, Port Salerno, and Palm Beach with park settings, ocean views, vintage Floridian architecture, and the famous Jupiter Lighthouse.

Juried artists compete for $15,000 in cash and prizes, with a Grand Prize of $4,000 cash. The festival includes a Paint Out contest on Sunday, March 1 (first prize $500, with separate awards for Professionals and Open Class), five days of competition painting at multiple locations, an Artist Orientation and Welcome Lunch, Collectors' Party and Sale, an 8x8 Small Works sale, and a live painting event called Battle of the Brushes. Artists selected to participate will receive detailed information after notification on September 5, 2025. The competition is open to all artists working with oil, acrylic, watercolor, or pastels. Artists must submit four samples of their best plein air work for juried consideration. Entry fee is $45. Artists receive 60% of sales, with a 40% commission to the Lighthouse ArtCenter. Unsold artwork must be removed by 3 pm on March 7, 2026; storage fees of $5 per day apply after that time.
