About This Call
The Adirondack Pastel Society invites artists working in soft pastel to submit work for the 12th Annual National Pastel Exhibition, running July 3 – August 5, 2026 at Larac's Lapham Gallery in Glens Falls, NY. This is an open call for original pastel artwork completed within the last three years. Work must be a minimum 80% soft pastel; oil pastels and varnished dry pastels are not accepted. All submitted work must be framed, glazed, and ready to hang with appropriate hanging hardware (no saw tooth hangers or clip frames). Paintings executed in a workshop under another artist's supervision are not eligible. Work must not have been previously exhibited in any prior APS Annual National Juried Exhibition or other national exhibition.
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for jurying. Entry fees are $35 for two images or $45 for three images. All work must be for sale; accepted work cannot be withheld from the exhibition under penalty of a two-year exclusion from future juried APS exhibitions. Sales will result in a 65/35 split with 65% going to the artist and 35% commission to LARAC. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Second Place ($400), and Third Place ($200). The entry deadline is May 11, 2026. Pickup dates are Thursday, August 6th (10:00 am - 6:00 pm), Friday, August 7th (10:00 am - 3:00 pm), and Saturday, August 8th (10:00 am - 3:00 pm). Shipped works require a $20.00 handling fee per artist and must be packed in ULINE art shipping boxes or equivalent.
