11th Biannual Exhibition

Angad Arts Hotel invites submissions for artwork from the Greater Saint Louis region and surrounding 200-mile radius for the 11th Biannual Exhibition. The artwork selected will be prominently showcased in the public areas of Angad Arts Hotel, located in the Grand Center Arts District. Eligible artists must live within 200 miles of the hotel (Chicago, IL and Kansas City, MO are not eligible). The exhibition will run from November 19, 2024 through late April 2025.

Submissions may include drawing, painting, graphic design, photography, printmaking, glass, assemblage, collage, written word, fiber, sculpture, or video media. There is no theme for this submission process. Final pieces must be professionally framed and/or ready for display. Submissions must include final dimensions with framing, and pictures with framing of final works are preferred. Textile artists have a special opportunity to submit a large installation piece with fixed height of 110 inches and width varying from 60 to 300 inches for the hotel's reception desk. Sculpture must be wall-mounted protruding no more than six inches. Video media will be displayed on a TV via USB in the express elevators.

The entry fee is $35.00, with no fee charged until after October 10, 2024. The submission deadline is Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 10:59 p.m. CST. Submissions must include full name and contact information, social media handles, artist statement, purchase valuation (including 40% commission), high-resolution JPEG of artwork, and artwork title, size, weight, media description, and dimensions with frame. Optional materials include curriculum vitae and written summary of relevant experience (maximum 500 words). Proposals will be reviewed by the Angad Arts Hotel Art Committee led by Chief Curator Vanessa Rudloff. All entrants will be notified of the status of their proposal by Friday, October 25, 2024. Artwork must be delivered no later than Saturday, November 9, 2024, with delivery available November 2-3 or November 9. The opening reception is Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Selected artwork will be displayed in prominent public spaces with daily foot traffic from national and international guests. Artwork will include name cards with artist information, social media handles, and QR codes directing patrons to purchase at www.shop.angadartshotel.com. All artwork on display is available for purchase, with Angad Arts Hotel retaining 40% commission and the artist receiving 60% of the sale. Artwork will be added to the hotel's digital archive and included in the Grand Center Art District's First Friday artwalks and weekly curator tours. Artists are responsible for delivery to and from the hotel and for shipping costs, except for artwork purchased by the public.
