About This Call
This is a juried competition open to members of any IAPS member society. Works must be in dry pastel, with no oil pastels. Mixed media entries must be predominantly dry pastel. All artwork must be original, created within the last two years, and not previously accepted in any IAPS exhibitions (excluding IAPS Member Society shows). Work done in classroom or workshop scenarios is ineligible. Artwork must not be created on top of any photographic image, and the top layer should be at least 80% dry application of pastel.
Awards include: Prix de Pastel ($2,000), Gold Award in Honor of Daniel Greene ($1,000), Silver Award in Honor of Elizabeth Mowry ($600), Bronze Award in Honor of Bill Creevy ($400), and four Awards of Excellence ($200 each). Work may be for sale or marked NFS. Paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance. Artwork sent to the show must be exactly the same piece as the photo submitted.
Submissions must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should be cropped to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background distractions, and must be oriented correctly. Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted by the entry deadline of February 15, 2023. For questions about the prospectus, eligibility, or artwork requirements, contact Red Weber at [email protected].
