About This Call
The 10th Annual Sculpture in the Hills Show and Sale (SITH) takes place June 23-25, 2017 in Hill City, South Dakota. This is a juried art fair for sculptors. Entry deadline is March 24, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
Submit 3-5 images of representative work. Jury fee is $25 for new artists; returning artists pay no jury fee. Jury decisions will be made by March 27, 2017. Booth fees are due by March 31, 2017. Single booths are 10x10 ft for $300 ($325 with electricity); double booths are 10x20 ft for $600 ($650 with electricity). Tables are available to rent for $20 each. The tent is provided; exhibitors must supply all furniture, chairs, pedestals, and equipment. Overnight security is provided.
Artists must attend the entire show and keep booths open during the Patron Preview Party on Friday and all show hours. Items exhibited must match the type and quality submitted for jurying. Only one artist's work may be displayed per booth. Artist awards include $1000 for Best in Show, $750 for People's Choice, plus second and third place cash awards. The Hill City Arts Council retains a 25% commission on total sales over $300, plus a 3% processing fee on credit card sales. Artist demonstrations are available in 45-minute time slots.
