10th Annual Allegany National Photography Competition & Exhibition

The 10th Annual Allegany National Photography Competition & Exhibition (ANPCE), sponsored by the Allegany Arts Council, is a juried competition offering $7,500 in cash prizes. The exhibition will run from March 30–April 20, 2024, in the Saville and Schwab Galleries of the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland, MD. The Public Opening and Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 6–8 PM, and will include the unveiling of a commemorative catalog showcasing previous award-winning images and past jurors.

Photographers from all 50 states are eligible to enter. Applicants may submit no more than six entries across three categories: Color (two-dimensional color photographs, maximum 48" width), Monochrome/Black and White (two-dimensional black and white or monochrome photographs, maximum 48" width), and Photography as a 3-D Art Form (photographic work presented in a unique, creative, non-traditional way with height, width, and depth as integral elements; maximum 84" height and 48" length and width; maximum 40 lbs). All entries must be lens-based photographs created solely by the entrant and may not incorporate images produced by anyone or anything else, including clip art, replacement skies, stock photos, or AI-generated images. All entries must be for sale and professionally presented and wired for hanging (or ready for display if three-dimensional). No entries will be accepted that have been previously exhibited in the Allegany Arts Council galleries.

The 2024 juror is Sarah Stolfa, Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Artistic Director of TILT: Institute for the Contemporary Image. Entry fee is $30.00 plus a $15.00 media fee. Work sample requirements: minimum 2 images, maximum 6 images; minimum 0 audio files, maximum 6; minimum 0 video files, maximum 6; total samples minimum 2, maximum 8.
