About This Call
The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is accepting portfolio submissions for its 3rd annual exhibition, 10:10:10 -- 10 Local Artists, 10 Linear Feet, 10 Self-Curated Exhibitions. Based on submitted portfolios of existing work, the Arts Council's Exhibition Committee will select ten NC artists to receive a grant of 10 linear feet of exhibition space at the Arts Center galleries, 301 Hay Street in downtown Fayetteville, NC from March 25 to May 14, 2022.
Artists must be at least 18 years of age and reside within North Carolina. Entries are due by 11:59 PM on Friday, March 4, 2022. Artists must submit their resumes and a digital portfolio of 8-10 works representing a recent body of work (completed in the last 3-5 years). Portfolio submissions should represent recent work, however, if chosen, the artist may select a different body of work for their artist-curated exhibition. All exhibited works must have been completed within the last three years and may not have been shown or previously entered into any Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County exhibition. Artists previously selected for any 10:10:10 exhibition are not eligible to apply. There is no entry fee. All 2D and 3D mediums are accepted, including drawing, painting, photography, animation, sculpture, mixed media, and printmaking.
If selected, artists are responsible for curating and hanging their own work. Selected artists will receive approximately 10 linear feet of gallery space. A minimum of 50% of each artist's works exhibited should be for sale. The Arts Council will retain 30% commission from the sales price. All work is insured while at the Arts Council. Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than Wednesday, March 9, 2022. A Member's Reception will be held on Friday, March 25, from 5:30 PM to 7 PM, followed by a general public opening from 7 PM to 9 PM. Installed works may be picked up between Monday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 18 during regular business hours. Contact Antonio Renteria, Operations Director, at [email protected] or 910-323-1776 ext. 1003.
