100 Years of Freedom

Art Works Downtown seeks artwork for the exhibition 100 Years of Freedom, honoring the centennial anniversary of Women's right to vote in the United States. Submissions should celebrate, be inspired by, question, or relate to the concept of freedom.

Eligibility: San Francisco Bay Area artists only. Applicants must live within 100 miles of San Rafael, California. Open to all visual arts media. Video must include player, monitor, and earphones; projections are prohibited. Original artwork only; no reproductions, though editions are acceptable. Artwork must not exceed 72" by any dimension, including frame and all materials. Submissions must not have previously exhibited in the AWD 1337 Gallery. Entry fee is $40 for a maximum of 3 entries. Work sample requirements: submit 1-3 total samples (images and/or video combined, maximum 3 of each type).

Timeline: Entry deadline is February 7, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST via CallForEntry.org. Notification by email February 14-15. Accepted entries must be hand-delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael, on Saturday, February 29, 1pm-4pm. Exhibition runs March 6–April 16, 2020. Receptions and 2nd Friday Art Walk are Friday, March 13 and April 10, 5-8pm. Unsold artwork pickup is Saturday, April 18, 10am-2pm. Juror: Christine Koppes, Curator and Director of Public Programs, The San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art.
