10 Fold

Crooked Tree Arts Center invites Michigan artists to submit work for the exhibition 10 Fold, celebrating ten years of creativity, community, and connection. Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to explore the theme of TEN—as a number, concept, symbol, and inspiration. Consider ten as a measure of time (a decade, countdown, cycle, moment in history), as a structure (geometric patterns, decimal system, symmetry, multiples), as a story (ten objects, perspectives, interconnected ideas), as a challenge (limit yourself to ten colors, brushstrokes, materials), or as a personal reflection on a decade of change, growth, or experience.

Eligibility: Open to Michigan artists 18 and over. Both 2D and 3D work accepted. All work must arrive assembled and stable for safety. Works must have been created and completed within the last three years. 3D wall-hanging works should not exceed 40 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 50 pounds. 3D freestanding works should not exceed 8 feet in height and 4 feet in width. Diptychs and triptychs are allowed but submitted and priced as one piece. Artists may submit up to three entries. Entry fee is $30.00 per artist ($20.00 for CTAC members, free for Guild members).

Timeline: Submit entries online February 8 - March 9, 2025. Jury dates: March 10-16, 2025. Notification will be sent the week of March 17, 2025. Work must be delivered to Crooked Tree Arts Center (Traverse City) between March 29 - April 5, 2025 (Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm; evening hours by appointment). The exhibition will be on display in Carnegie Galleries from April 15 - May 23, 2025. Unsold artwork must be picked up between May 27-31, 2025. Works delivered with return shipping arrangements will be returned within 2 weeks of the exhibit's end. Artists are responsible for transportation costs. Crooked Tree Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sales. Works do not have to be for sale.
