The Arts Burlington Holiday Sale is an event with creations from the guilds at the AGB. The BFAA is planning to be a big part of this exciting sale but its success is dependent on having good participation by our members. Our focus for this sale is to provide clients with small affordable paintings.
Location: Art Gallery of Burlington, 1333 Lakeshore Rd., Burlington
Submission Deadline: Tuesday November 3, 2026 at midnight
Sale Dates:
Saturday Nov 21, 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday Nov 22, 10 am to 5 pm
Note regarding submission:
● Please review this document completely, and keep it for reference.
● Initial submission to BFAA is online through Entrythingy
● After your submission by Entrythingy, the information you have entered will remain accessible to you should you need to refer to it again prior to drop off day. This information will be used to confirm your work at drop off.
● “Work in Progress” can be submitted to Entrythingy but there can be no substitutions with a different piece, once your piece is submitted
● Paintings will be organized for hanging by artist where more than one painting is submitted

Artist Bio Cards:
● If you are a new member please go to the link below to make your first time Artist Bio Card. Note that the same Artist Bio Cards are used for any BFAA exhibition or sale (ie the Burlington Theatre Shows).

● We saved cards from the Holiday sale so will be using these, and ask that when you pick up your paintings you turn in your cards for future reuse
Submission Guidelines:
● Members may submit up to four (4) artworks
● Entrance fee for 1-4 pieces is $20 total, payable by e-transfer to [email protected] PRIOR TO the start of the sale
● All sales are subject to a 20% commission
● Last Date of Submission –Tuesday November 3, 2026 at midnight
● NEW: The final call to entry closing date is FIRM. Volunteers need your support on this so we have time to prep for the sale. Remember you can write WIP (work in progress) on your submitted images if you still need to make some changes to your piece.
Acceptable artwork selling price, size, and substrate requirements:
● FYI: ·2026 Holiday sale: In total we had 173 artworks by 49 artists that were entered. Overall 35 pieces (20%) sold. Of the 35 artworks that sold, 91% were priced at less than $150. Within this, the split was even between under $100, and $100 to $149.
● Art to be priced at a minimum of $50.00
● All paintings need to be properly labelled and wired as set out below
● Maximum size of artwork is 16” x 16” (maximum 16 inches in each direction; paintings may be square, round or rectangle as long as they fit into these dimensions). Maximum dimensions include framing. Single canvases only: No diptych or triptych, as an example. Space does not accommodate.
● Paper works are to be framed under glass/plexiglass. Unframed canvas pieces will be accepted only with neatly finished sides. Canvas depths of 3/4 inch to 2 inch are acceptable.
Entrythingy
● Please follow instructions below so that volunteers can smoothly take in your artwork at the sale.
● The image file name must be in the following format: LastnameFirstname_title_size.jpg. Example: SmithMary_SpringMeadow_10x10.jpg.
● Use this same full image file name as the title of your piece in the spot that entrythingy has. Do not just use the title “SpringMeadow”
Drop Off and Pick Up Information:
Key points to assist in a smooth, enjoyable experience for both volunteers and artists:
● On arrival please line up in the designated area, until ‘doors open’. Consider arriving later during the drop off period to avoid the opening rush.
● Find a friend, family member or fellow artist to drop off and/or pick up your artwork, if you are not able to do so. Please email the Sale Team before drop off or pick up day who will be there in your place by sending an email to [email protected].
Continuing this year:
● No early drop off is available.
● No late pick up is available.
● No storage is available.
You will be asked to initial /sign the Take In binder when you drop off your pieces.

Conditions of Entry – Please read carefully prior to submitting
By submitting your work to the sale you acknowledge your agreement to these Conditions of Entry.
You will also be asked to sign a printed copy of your Entrythingy document in the Take in Binder at Drop Off. Signing will acknowledge that you have read and agree to the below Conditions of Entry, and that the information in your Entrythingy document is correct (title, price, medium, size, etc).
1. This call is open to all Burlington Fine Arts Association members in good standing. BFAA reserves the right to make final decisions on acceptable art. The work must be suitable for presentation in a public space, for all ages (i.e., artwork may not contain profanity, hate speech, etc).
2. There will be no changes to the name, image or price of the artwork after your entry has been received. Original artwork only. No giclee prints, embellished, or other print reproductions of artwork.
3. It is your responsibility to read this “2026 HOLIDAY SALE Call to Entry & Information” document in full, available on the Call to Entry Website and familiarize yourself with all dates and information, and reach out if you require clarification.
4. Digital files must be in JPG (jpeg) format. Please ensure that the extension attached to the image file is .jpg. No other formats will be accepted.
The maximum resolution should be no more than 1024 x 768 pixels at 72dpi, and be no larger than 2MB. The image file name must be in the following format: LastnameFirstname_title.jpg. Example: SmithMary_SpringMeadow.jpg. NO OTHER INFO IN THE IMAGE TITLE
5. All work must be exhibition ready, wired only (no string, saw tooth or alligator clips, or duct tape) with twisted wire ends protected with masking or painters tape. Wire to be attached with appropriate screwed in D-rings or screw hooks flat to the back of the painting. Please see the diagram below for wiring instructions.
6. Art that is not properly framed, finished, wired and/or labelled, or is wet, will not be accepted into the show. At the inspection table materials and tools will be available to correct any issues. Wiring kits will be available at a cost of $5.00 each.
7. If you are not able to drop off and/or pick up your work yourself, please arrange to
have a friend or family member or fellow artist do so. Please email the Coordinators before drop off or pick up day who will be there in your place by sending an email to [email protected].
8. The artist acknowledges that the BFAA and its representatives will not be responsible for theft, or loss of, or damage to artwork; however, all reasonable care to safeguard the works will be taken while entries are in the Art Gallery of Burlington.
9. It is highly recommended that each individual artist obtains personal insurance for the Holiday Sale to cover potential damage to the art caused by accident, act, omission or by intentional act of the AGB or a third party. The artist should ensure that the insurance covers the work(s) for the duration of the sale, exhibition, installation and take down.
10. Each artist may submit up to 4 pieces to the Holiday Sale. Artwork may not exceed 16 inches on the longest side, including frame. Oversized work will be rejected at drop-off due to space limitations. Three-dimensional work is not permitted.
11. The Arts Burlington will retain a commission of 15% on all sales, BFAA will retain a commission of 5% on all sales. Artists will receive 80% of the final sale price. As usual, Arts Burlington will process all purchases at the Holiday Sale and the resulting payments to individual artists will be issued by e-transfer within 45 days following the close of the sale.
12. The BFAA reserves the right to determine final display placement, grouping, and layout of all artwork. Submission does not guarantee exhibition of all pieces if space or safety concerns arise. The BFAA may remove any artwork deemed unsuitable, unsafe, or not compliant with the Conditions of Entry.
13. By entering the Holiday Sale, the artist grants the BFAA & Arts Burlington permission to use submitted artwork images, titles, and artist names for promotional purposes, including social media, newsletters, website, and marketing materials. No compensation is provided for promotional use.
