BSA - Then | Now | Next - 2026

This non-juried Exhibition + Art Exchange are a unique opportunity for both BSA
Exhibiting and Associate Members to submit, exhibit and acquire work.

For 135 years the BSA has evolved through both opportunity and change. Then/Now/Next approaches this history as a living continuum, one shaped by practice, present practice and future possibility. Then/Now/Next Exhibition is not a retrospective, but rather a proposition, asking what it means to carry a history forward while making space for what comes next for the BSA and it’s members.

Artists will create two 5" x 5" works around the following guidelines to be exchanged at the end of the exhibition.

Then- Response to influence, former practice, lineage or BSA History
Now- What's your current practice
Next- A risk, experiment or forward looking gesture

All entries must be the Artist’s original work. All work must be 5” x 5” and can be framed or unframed and ready to hang. If framed, the 10” includes frame. All media will be accepted within the 5” x 5” size requirement. Three dimensional work must be able to hang and cannot exceed 5” in depth. There is no production date requirement.

All Exhibiting and Associate BSA Members in good standing may submit both works for $35.00
All participating Artists will acquire two pieces at random of the work submitted. Exhibiting Artists will receive work from Exhibiting Artists and Associate Members will receive work from Associate Members. The reveal of which work you acquire will happen on November 28 during the Reception + Exchange
