46th Annual Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass Arts Festival

Eligibility and Media
Application is open to all fine artists and craftspeople. Only fine arts and fine crafts will be accepted. All work must be produced by the artist applying for entry. No copies or kits will be accepted. Other types of work that will NOT be accepted are: hand-decorated manufactured items, ceramics made from commercial molds, commercially made products, food products, commercially fabricated forms or settings in lapidary work.

Jury
A jury committee competent to evaluate the applications will be responsible for accepting appropriate artists for the Arts Festival. All decisions are final. Artists will be notified of acceptance or rejection by April 30, 2020.

Images
As the Arts Festival is juried by the images submitted, applicants should give careful attention to furnish the best images to present his or her work.

Registration
Application deadline is March 31, 2020. Notifications to accepted artists will be emailed on April 30, 2020. Booth fees are non-refundable after June 30, 2020. Refunds will be processed beginning June 30, 2020

Fees and Booths
Application Fees: $25 jury fee (non-refundable per application). A separate application and fee is required for each category. Non-refundable jury fee checks are deposited as they are received. Artist Merit Award winners of 2019 are exempt from the jury requirement.

Booth Fees: $125 per booth (non-refundable after June 30, 2020)
Booth space dimensions: 15 x 10
Acceptable canopy dimensions: 10 x 10 x 10
Artists must supply all their own display materials including canopies, carts, chairs etc. Electricity is not available. Booths are assigned upon acceptance and finalized registration on the basis of one artist per space except in the case of artistic collaboration. (See entry requirements for collaboration). Artist should limit their display to the 15 x 10 area; any artist extending their space beyond the area provided will be charged an additional booth fee. Special requests for booth assignments will be given consideration and made in order of receipt. The arts festival committee makes every effort to give accepted artists their preferred spaces, but this cannot always be guaranteed. Artist registration will be from 6 am to 9 am on July 19th, 2020. All booths must be set up by 10 am Festival hours are 10 am until 4 pm. No overnight security is provided and artists who choose to set up on Saturday night do so at their own risk. Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass assumes no responsibility for loss, damage or theft. Parking and driving on the grass are NOT PERMITTED in the park. In the event that your application is declined, the museum will return the $125 booth fee to you.

In the event of inclement weather
our primary concern is the safety of artists and visiting patrons. We also understand that the prime concern of artists is the protection and preservation of their artwork. To this end the following policies will be enforced should threatening weather become an issue. We will use our best judgment based on media weather reports and visual conditions to determine if the event should remain open.
Lightning observed within a ten mile radius calls for an automatic shutdown of the event.
Artists are recommended to create their own 'Quick Break-Down Plan' to maximize the speed and protection of their artwork when adverse weather occurs.
Should it be deemed necessary event staff will advise artists to seek shelter in the park pavilion during extreme weather conditions.
Artists will NOT break-down or independently end their event day without the consent of event staff.
Artists are required to have and use four tent weights, one for each tent leg. Each weight should be not less than 20 lbs.
Artists should have a large tarp or tarps to provide sufficient covering for their merchandise during sporadic weather or sudden weather changes or during an emergency.
During gusty or windy weather artists are advised to lower their tent by 2-3 feet in order to stabilize the structure either temporarily or during 'Quick Break-Down'.
Neither Bergstrom-Mahler Museum, event staff nor official sponsors are responsible for any damaged or missing artwork or tent set up.

By submitting this electronic application, I certify that I have read the information in this application and agree to abide by the specifications described. I understand that two separate checks are required with this application form ($125 booth fee and $25 non-refundable jury fee), unless I was a winner in the previous year. I understand all work must be original and produced by myself and no copies or kits are accepted. I understand the booth space is not rented nor purchased by the booth fee, but assigned by the Arts Festival Committee after receipt of all registrations.
