Artist Statement

jesse is a multi disciplinary artist born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Their current art practice is in North Carolina where they work with wood, textile, handmade paper, and flame worked glass. Drawn first to grain and feel they create eye catching pieces that crave to be held. They play with color and depth through carving, contrasting wood patterns, and combining mediums. Ever expanding the notion of what counts as a vessel, jesse makes everyday objects, sculptures, and keepsakes that feel meant to be.
