Artist Statement

I am a sculptor working primarily in metal with some mixed media elements. My work is abstract and encompasses standing, wall hanging, suspended. It often incorporates motion and vibration, whether actual or implied.

I explore the tensions between simplicity and complexity, between internal and external. My work examines the ways that simple hidden systems with straightforward goals can give rise to marvelous complex behavior; conversely it examines the way that simple external abstractions can hide immense complexity.
