Artist Statement

I am an oil painter inspired by the emotional language of nature. I paint landscapes not simply as places, but as expressions of the experiences we carry with us—grief, hope, solitude, love, resilience, and wonder.

Light is central to my work. Sunrises, storms, water, mountains, changing seasons, and dramatic skies allow me to explore the contrast between darkness and beauty, loss and renewal. I am particularly drawn to moments in nature that seem to mirror something deeply human.

My paintings often begin with a feeling or story rather than a specific landscape. Through color, texture, movement, and light, I build a world around that emotion. Some works are quiet and contemplative; others are vivid and dramatic, but my intention remains the same: to create a place where the viewer can recognize something from their own life.

I believe a painting does not need to tell the viewer exactly what to feel. Instead, I want my work to invite people into the landscape and allow them to discover their own story within it.
