Artist Statement

Christine Ricks is a textile artist whose work explores the relationship between nature, storytelling, color, and the human experience. Working with reclaimed fabric, thread, and layered textures, she transforms everyday materials into expressive works of art.

Inspired by native plants, florals, and landscapes, and the exploration of women working through this lived experience her work celebrates themes of resilience, growth, transformation, and hope. Blending traditional quilting techniques with an improvisational approach, Christine embraces unexpected color combinations, happy accidents, and the beauty of imperfection.

With a background in graphic design and more than 25 years of creative experience, she brings a strong sense of composition, color, and visual storytelling to her artistic practice.
