Artist Statement

I create sculptural works from preserved mosses, lichen, roots, and other natural materials, composing each piece by hand to explore the textures, rhythms, and quiet complexity of the natural world. I am drawn to the contrast between organic forms that feel untamed and the intentional structure of a handmade frame.

My process is intuitive and tactile. I select each piece of moss and wood for its shape, color, movement, and texture, building compositions that echo the layered landscapes of forests, meadows, and woodland floors. The materials are preserved using food-safe dyes and glycerin, allowing their natural character to remain vibrant without the maintenance of living plants.

Through these works, I create small portals into nature—objects meant not simply to depict the natural world, but to bring its physical presence into our everyday spaces. Each piece offers a moment to pause, notice texture, and reconnect with something slower and more elemental.
