Artist Statement

As a printmaker with a focus on woodblocks, I’m fascinated by the layering of form, color and texture possible with this medium. Most of my woodblocks are printed by hand, without a press, on fine Japanese papers. I create small editions of ten to fifteen impressions. I also use my prints in collages, drawings and artist books.
Other recent printmaking projects include Beacon RollOut, a community steamroller event, and several large scale woodblocks printed with BigInk. My artmaking experience also includes oil painting, lithography, silkscreen, murals, museum dioramas, life drawing, animated film, graphic design and photography.
