Artist Statement

My artistic practice is rooted in authentic, unfiltered storytelling captured through street, urban, and travel photography. Over the course of 25 years as a self-taught photographer, I have built an archive of over 10,000 original images across the globe—from the quiet canals of Amsterdam and the vivid streets of Tijuana, Algodones, Chihuahua, and Puerto Peñasco, to the raw, distinctive architecture and light of Phoenix, Pittsburgh, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

My work focuses on the intersection of human movement, raw urban textures, graffiti, animals, and the natural geometry of built environments. Rather than relying on heavy digital alteration, I focus on capturing the instinctual rhythm of a place: how natural light cuts through an alleyway, the contrast of street art against weathered walls, and the quiet, unscripted moments of everyday life. I am particularly drawn to high-contrast, ready-to-hang physical mediums—such as metal, poly glass, and acrylic—which enhance the depth, color, and tactile energy of urban landscapes.

I am deeply influenced by the discipline of athletic focus and the raw, unpolished beauty of international street culture. My practice is driven by core values of peace, joy, integrity, and authenticity. Every photograph serves as a visual journal entry—documenting dynamic environments, honoring the spirit of the locations I visit, and inviting the viewer to see the extraordinary art embedded in the everyday world.
