Artist Statement

My artistic practice is rooted in memory and in the relationship between vernacular photography, watercolor, and embroidery on paper. I work with photographs that carry traces of family, relationships, places, and everyday life, treating them as spaces where personal and collective memories can be revisited.

Through thread and color, I intervene in these images, adding new layers to the original photographic record. Embroidery introduces time, touch, and materiality, while watercolor shifts the image and opens it to new interpretations. This process creates a dialogue between what was recorded and what is remembered, imagined, and reconstructed.

My work explores how images can preserve bonds and identities while also changing through time. By transforming vernacular photographs, I seek to create visual spaces where memory, affection, and lived experience can continue to unfold.
