Artist Statement

After fifty years working at the practice of embroidery and producing in excess of 250 pieces of finished work, I have turned to portraiture. I have always been intimidated by sketching and drawing but wanted to draw the faces of the people I know and some I know about. It seems my experience at embroidery has served me well, for I have found satisfaction in the amateur results that patience and persistence rewards.
