Artist Statement

Paintings are an opportunity of discovery for us all.

I present the space of an imagined universe.

An imaginary environment that sometimes contains creatures: their physiques, life cycles, and activities, enriched by my studies in art, anthropology, and urban planning.

The paintings unfold in ways that surprise and teach me. I follow as much as I lead in the process.

An artist fully motivated by creative urgency always draws on everything they know and--most importantly--searches tirelessly for what they do not know yet.
