Artist Statement

I am a lifelong artist persistently making incorrigible art. My work is recognizable with its combination of loose paint, line work, representational anchor, charred elements, and layered collage. I have my obsessions: urbanity as a social organism, impermanence and death and decay and human frailty, global conflict, social injustice, female agency, racial and class equality, predators and prey.

In all of these, mine is to discuss rather than dictate. My pieces are intentionally open to interpretation. The viewer owns the meaning that they bring to the work. I do the heavy lifting but the rest they carry. This is about humble dialogue, not siloed consensus. I try to avoid the endless feedback loop.
